Tiffany Lamps History

Tiffany lamps originated from Louis Comfort Tiffany who lived between 1848 and 1933. He was an American artist and designer who promoted the copper foil method of stained glass construction, which is still popular today making tiffany lamps and stained glass windows.

He founded the stained glass company in 1885 which was later renamed as the more famous Tiffany Studios which kept its name until it closed for business in 1932.

It wasn’t until around 1895 that Tiffany produced his first commercial tiffany lamps that are now very valuable. There was a rare authentic tiffany lamp that sold for over $2.000.000 in America. So if you have that old tiffany lamp that your grandmother gave you, it might be worth keeping hold of because you just never know.
